Kassento till overview with a backup reminder, the Café Central till showing its target float and a count that can be resumed, and a further till.

The end-of-day workflow

Three clear steps instead of spreadsheet chaos.

Kassento guides you through the process without making it unnecessarily complicated. Drafts, counting marks, and still incomplete expected balances are saved locally and survive back navigation and restarts.

Count

Enter coins, notes, and coin rolls by quantity — including partial sums such as 10 + 10 + 7. Every item is visibly open or counted, and the running total always shows where you stand.

Check

Compare an entered, imported, or calculated expected balance with the cash counted. If a variance remains, Kassento walks you through quantities, expected amount, and tips.

Close

Plan the withdrawal and remaining float, confirm cash movements and the final balance, then save the closing locally, share it, or hand it over.

A workflow you can see

From counting to handover.

Unedited views taken directly from the current app — this is what closing looks like on the device.

Counting screen showing the progress line “0 of 15 items counted”, quick entry, “Count with a scale”, and a “Not yet counted” mark on each denomination.
Keep your progress Every item open or counted.
The “Expected cash and float” screen with a choice of where the expected balance comes from, the amount from the POS system, the target float, and a tips field.
Set the expected balance Balance, target float, and tips.
The “Check the count” screen showing a variance of +€7.25, the steps for quantities, expected cash, and tips, and the start of an independent recount.
Check the variance Guided instead of guessed.
The “Count coins by weight” sheet with coin denomination, the nominal weight from the ECB, fields for weight and container tare, and a note that plausibility does not prove a single denomination.
Weigh coins Estimate sorted coins, with Pro.
Closing details with the recommended withdrawal, confirmed deposits to the safe and the bank, and actions for denominations, drawer movements, and export.
Document the closing Movements, final balance, and export.
Open tasks list showing 18 open actions, filters for counts, cash, variances, and handovers, and one entry per till.

For real business workflows

Start simply. Work professionally.

The free core covers the complete counting, checking, and closing workflow. Pro adds organisation, documentation, and insights for regular closings.

Count

Matched to your till

EUR, CHF, GBP, and USD are built in, with the notes and coins actually found in a cash drawer. Partial sums such as 10 + 10 + 7 are applied as one step and can be undone, and every item stays visibly open or counted. Enable rare denominations when needed, count coin rolls, and use Pro to create custom currencies. Every calculation stays within one currency, with no conversion.

Verify

Make variances traceable

Enter the expected balance directly, take it from your POS system, or let Kassento calculate it, with optional blind counting. If a variance remains, the variance check walks through quantities, expected amount, and tips and asks for a reason, comment, or approval. With Pro you compare two independent counts denomination by denomination and apply the result only after reviewing it. Kassento corrects nothing on its own and claims no cause.

New in Pro

Receipt scanning and coin scales

POS receipt scanning (beta) suggests the card total and terminal settlement from a receipt photo you already stored; the text recognition runs on the device. Sorted coins are estimated by the coin scale using the ECB nominal weights. Both stay suggestions — you select and confirm every value yourself.

“Plausible” only means the weight adds up. You still check the denomination, the tare, and whether the coins really are sorted.

Team

Hand over instead of shouting across

Even without Pro you create a closing handover from the history at the end of a shift and share it as a file. On the manager’s Pro device it is imported, reviewed, and merged into open tasks for drafts, variances, cash confirmations, and handovers. Split tips by share, and select “Counted by” and “Approved by” from your local staff list.

Handovers are local data packages you share deliberately. The staff list is for documentation only — with no accounts, roles, or sign-in.

Document & share

Find every closing again

History, search, and filters keep closings traceable. Planned withdrawals stay separate from cash movements you actually confirmed, the confirmed final balance carries into the next count, and the change requirement shows what to replenish per denomination. Share closings as text, PDF, or CSV; weekly and monthly reports and trends by time range and currency are produced on the device.

Control

Your data, your decision

App protection, a local reminder, and password-encrypted portable backups complement the primarily local working data. Restoring a backup always remains free.

Private by design

Your till is not a tracking dataset.

Kassento requires no app account, contains no advertising, and uses no developer analytics. Till, count, and history data is processed primarily within the app sandbox, and receipt text recognition runs on the device. RevenueCat processes purchase data for the optional Pro purchase; the Android receipt scanner may transmit technical SDK diagnostic and usage data.

Privacy in detail →

Local working data

Drafts and closings remain on the device until you choose to share, back up, or delete them.

Deliberate backups

Portable backups are encrypted with a password when you request one and handed to a destination you choose.

Clear boundaries

No connection to a bank, safe, POS, terminal, or payment system. Receipt scanning reads only your own receipt photo; labels and reconciliations remain local documentation.

Important: Kassento is a counting and calculation aid. Scan and weight results are suggestions and must be checked. It is not a cash book, accounting software, or tax, fiscalisation, or legal advice.
